I spent a little more time on the RSS feeds and made sweet addition to the VN Movie feed which I have been wanting to do for months (not difficult, just lazy). Here are some of the updates:
VNTV Updates
- Added 2 new sources (VTV and MVGroup). Shows that weren’t in the feed before are added now (Colbert Report, Swingtown, etc.) Make sure you enable episode filtering in uTorrent.
- Bug Fix: I originally removed anything ws* because of title formatting, but this created issues when News was in the title.
- Removed .from titles which separated words and replaced with spaces.
- Created a new format filter for series like [Vol1 10/12]. The formatting before was Vol1 10of12.
VN Movies Updates
- Added YouTube link to for video trailer.
- Created link to distributor. Also changed font color to draw attention for credit.
- Updated minor formatting issues in FXG feed.
There were minor updates, but they make life easier. I am still trying to fix some of the formatting issues at the bottom of the details for aXXo. If anybody has any suggestions for what they would like to see just let me know.
Today I took some time to update my RSS feed of the most recent movies released. I actually made quite a few changes that I have been meaning to do for some time now. New improvements include:
- iMDB page is now a hyperlink
- formatted the titles removing the junk
- removed lots of useless info from the bodies of both aXXo and FXG
- removed ugly white spaces
- removed ugly > which plagued aXXo’s posts
- formatted aXXo feed to the same font as FXG
I actually had to do the formatting seperately in for each feed instead of trying to format both in one pipe, then merge them with a third pipe. Soon I will write an article on how to load this into your Google Reader and setup uTorrent for easy movie downloading.
I figured since I was changing the theme of the page I might as well start with a post about how I started with HTPC type stuff. One of the main things I wanted when I moved to Kuwait was to be able to watch my favorite shows instead of being limited to AFN. There are lots of sites out there have tutorials on this type of thing, many of which you will see are pretty much the same. This is just a starting point for me and a place where I can easily write more blogs expanding on the subject.
After many trials and revisions, this method is what has worked best for me over the last couple years.

Since I have started a new domain to do my, for lack of better words, “life blogging”, I have this domain to do something with. One thing I have always wanted to post more of is articles/tutorials on making life easier with a focus in a genre home theater PC (htpc).
Now I know there are a ton of sites out there that have little tips and how-to’s on making life easier like lifehacker, but I want to post things that are tried a true. I have been living in the middle east for about a year and a half now and have learned how to bring the US to me through the internet. For the first few weeks I want to focus on bittorrent and Vista Media Center (VMC). After I throw a few article up about those we will see how thing are going and adjust fire from there.
Tonight I will start trying to crank out a couple tutorials on streaming TV using uTorrent, Mininova, and RSS feeds.
