Made it to Kuwait
I haven’t posted for a while so there are quite a few things to catch up on.
I finally made it to Kuwait at the end of last month and started my job with General Dynamics as a Network Technician. The job is pretty laid back since I only work a 12 hour shift every-other-day. Can’t really complain about working 48 hours one week, 36 the next. This gives me plenty of time to go to finish my MIS degree with University of Phoenix (if they will ever email me my tuition forms).
Earlier this week I went to Bahrain for 3 days to get my visa for Kuwait. That is one of the most expensive places I have ever been. Dubai was worse, but Bahrain is a close second. Its amazing how weak the dollar is compared to these middle-eastern countries!
I have started working on a design for my new blog for Esther and myself. It shouldbe up and running in a couple weeks. After that I will start working on a gallery plugin for WordPress so I don’t have to rely on flickr for my photos any more. I will be taking most of the features from the gallery I started for this site and putting them into a more user friendly and eye pleasing layout on the new site. There shouldn’t be too many more posts on this site from now on.
Once I get the new site up and functioning properly I will make my last post referring everyone to the new site. Here is what I threw together in Photoshop right before I left for Bahrain (it’s a little cramped in the pic, the actual layout will be more spread out). I want to try to take the 3 main things I do on the web (which anybody reading this would be interested in) and putting them all in one place: a typical blog, social networking lifeline, and photo gallery. Once those are functioning Esther wants to add a couple more things, but those are the major hurdles right now.
