Almost there

June 27th, 2008

I am currently sitting in the airport at Ft. Benning waiting for our flight to Kuwait. I cant wait to get there and start working since I haven’t really done anything seriously work related in about 3 months.

Once I get to Kuwait and get settled in I will post some pictures of where I am living and what kind of thing are around the apartment. I will also start doing some more web design related stuff. There haven’t been many updates to the site due to time and internet restrictions. I have started on a new site to replace this one which is completely custom made from scratch. I have a pretty good start on it so far, but there are many things I need to go back and fix before it will be released (ie security related issues).

The new site will focus on blog, pictures and videos all merged together instead of the way this site is setup. It will hopefully be more user friendly and will allow me to better document what is going on in my life. I have no idea when the first release will be, but right now I am hoping for something in the next few months.

For those back home please feel free to email me or give me a call (530.554.9445).

New job, back to Kuwait

June 21st, 2008

Today was my first day with General Dynamics. I accepted a contracting job with them in Kuwait working in the same hallway I worked in before. The new job is pretty simple, just maintain a radio network.

It’s not a real glamorous job, but working 15 days a month will give me time to finish my degree and move on to a better job later. I’m looking forward to it because Esther will be able to live with me there. Once she gets there we will start the visa process for her to come to the US.

Right now I am in Atlanta doing my new-hire orientation. Tomorrow I will head off to Ft. Benning for about a week to prepare to go back to Kuwait.
