Going Back Home
Well it has been an interesting year, but in a few days it will all be over. It has been an interesting deployment… nothing like what I had expected. As with all of my other assignments luck was on my side. Most of you know I was supposed to go to Iraq to train their Army and Police but instead was sent to Kuwait to work for a 2 and 3 star general escorting all 1 star and above through Kuwait.
Looking back I wish I had taken more pictures, but after a while the excitement fades and it becomes just another general or congressional. Some of my favorite people I had the opportunity to meet were the President, First Lady, Secretary of State/Defense/Army, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (ADM Mullen), MNF-I Commander (GEN Petraeus), and a few others. Some of the non-military people I met were Robin Williams, Lance Armstrong, Kid Rock, Ms. USA, Jessica Simpson, Pussycat Dolls, Disturbed, Carlos Mencia, Lewis Black… and there were a few others I can’t think of right now.
This was a great way to finish out my military tenure. I will walk away with so many memories and stories to pass on to my family, friends, and children later in life. It has been a great fun and I thank all those I worked with over the year.
