the other day i was talking to my friend Anastasia and she told me somebody had bioengineered some kind of pet. i thought she was blowing smoke up my ass, but i was wrong. thats right, some quacks over in Europe have managed to bioengineer a pet by crossing human DNA with a dog.

today was my last day at work for the year. i’m taking my last PTO half of this week and half of next. Amy flies in tomorrow night and leaves on the 3rd so i will be able to see her again before i take off for good. that will be cool, i’m not exactly sure what we are going to do though.
i also made a few improvements to the page. i added a video player from jeroenwijering’s site which i can embed straight into the posts. its the same thing i had about a year ago but the player is more advanced and i installed a plug in by Alex Rabe. looks pretty promising, but i think im going to add a little bit to it. i would like to be able to have an RSS feed of my videos so i can play a play list. once i got the video player working i went ahead and fixed up the gallery a little. the gallery now fits correctly in the standards of the new layout and i added lightbox. this little script makes it so when you click on a thumbnail it loads in a spiffy little dedicated box instead of the plain old way. check it out, let me know what you think.

it seems like every other post on here is about me changing the design of the page. well im going to stick with this one for a while so i hope you like it.
i like the layout of this one and it is fairly easy to modify the source code for. i already added an mp3 player at the top which you probably already noticed. i plan on eventually being able to add my own music to the playlist through the admin section, but for now i have add songs through a website called openproject.com. its a webpage to help unsigned artists get their music out there. pretty neat site actually.
i am working right now on making the control panel above with the mp3 player a tab below the header. when you click it it will slide down and display what you see above (along with a flash slideshow of some sort), much like what foo has. my main focus will be on the gallery once the main page is spiffed up a little. the snow above helps. i got that from Scott Schiller’s site.
all in all its coming along pretty well.
