Simple, Secure Password Entry

There are many tools out there to help you remember your passwords. People say you should never use the same password for every site, instead use a completely different password for every site you register on, but this is far too many passwords to ever remember! In come SuperGenPass.

SuperGenPass allows users to have a master password which the site uses to generate a hash with the domain of the site you are using (see how it works). For example, if you go to www.google.com and have a master password of 1234, it will generate the password fVYmgoNq8x. Hard to remember? No worries, just use their bookmarklet which will generate the password for you. Now when you go to a site, just enter your user name and click on the SuperGenPass bookmarklet (in your bookmarks) and it will automatically fill in the password for you. You can also set it up so you enter your master password into the password field and SuperGenPass will generate the hash based on what you enter in the password field.

Don’t like going to bookmarks and clicking on your SuperGenPass bookmarklet every time you want to fill in a password? No problem. Head on over to Mozilla Addons and download CustomButtons2. Once installed simply right click on your toolbar and select Add New Button. In the code put loadURI(”BOOKMARKLET”); replacing BOOKMARKLET with your SuperGenPass bookmarklet code. Now when you click on that button your passwords will be filled in for you.

Quick, easy, safe and secure. Now you will never have to remember multiple passwords again, yet you have a different complex password for every site. If somebody gets hold of one of them, no need to worry about your other information being compromised.

(Also check your password strength using Password Meter)
